Emily has suffered from mental illness since she was a child and after fighting for two years she will die from doctor assisted suicide with a lethal injection. From the outside Emily is a physically healthy woman with a loving family and friends with everything to live for, but she finds her life unbearable. Her mental suffering has led to her repeatedly self harming , trying to kill herself and being committed to a psychiatric clinic. She lives in Belgium which has a liberal policy when it comes to euthanasia allowing not just those with terminal physical illness but with mental illness to opt for death over life.
