It's difficult to get complete details from the guide books. Can someone share information about their personal experience viewing elephants and other wildlife in Kerala or Tamil Nadu? Then surely visit elephant orphanage at pinnewala.. In Kerala , Thekkady is a better choice. If you are lucky you can see wild elephants during your boating in Periyar lake. Also you can visit Elephant Junction In Thekkady.

The Ant and the Elephant is a children's picture book written and illustrated by Bill Peet and was adapted into a family musical for the stage. An ant is stranded on an island; since he can't swim, the ant asks a turtle for help. The turtle selfishly refuses because he's already had his swim for the day ; shortly thereafter, he falls on his back and can't right himself. So he asks a hornbill for help; she selfishly refuses "This will teach you not to be so clumsy," she says , and then her egg falls out of its nest. It's too heavy for her to carry, so she asks a giraffe for help, but the giraffe is too proud to assist her. Then the giraffe's legs get hopelessly ensnarled in some vines; he asks a lion for help, but the lion just laughs and strolls on.
I recently completed a nice tour of Ooty and Bandipur and many thanks to very good guidance from many people like Mr. Rajan, Mr. Alen, Earthroutes, Plansecuretrip. There is many posts on Ooty and eateries etc, which are good, but i want to touch upon some points which are not there like Food options apart from Ooty town. For local sight seeing garden, boat lake, dodabetta etc there is no issues, but when you go out of town like day visit to Pykara, Needle view point or day visit to Avalanche or day trip to Mudumalai , then there is quite a bit of food problems especially pure vegetarian in these places.
