Eat to Live: The Revolutionary Formula for Fast and Sustained Weight Loss by Joel Fuhrman
When Mehmet Oz or any of New Yorks leading doctors has a patient whose life depends on losing weight, they call on Joel Fuhrman, M.D. In EAT TO LIVE, Dr. Fuhrman offers his healthy, effective, and scientifically proven plan for shedding radical amounts of weight quickly, and keeping it off.
Losing weight under Dr. Fuhrmans plan is not about willpower, it is about knowledge. The key to this revolutionary diet is the idea of nutrient density, as expressed by the simple formula Health=Nutrients/Calories. When the ratio of nutrients to calories is high, fat melts away and health is restored. Losing 20 pounds in two to three weeks is just the beginning. The more high-nutrient food Dr. Fuhrmans patients consume, the more they are satisfied with fewer calories, and the less they crave fat and high-calorie foods. Designed for people who must lose 50 pounds or more in a hurry, EAT TO LIVE works for every dieter, even those who want to lose as little as 10 pounds quickly. No willpower required-just knowledge

Joel Fuhrman. I just finished my first week on E2L and I was down almost 7lbs! Just about 1lb per day!
I recently mentioned my plans to start Dr. I started on January 1st because the longer I planned, the more time I had to eat the foods I thought I would miss. Instead of having a farewell to pasta week, I decided to jump in. December is one of my favorite times to indulge, but this year I was more aware than ever about how food was making me feel. Cookies gave me belly aches, increased sugar kept me up at night.
Last Updated on August 30, These all meet the guidelines set for Eat to Live recipes. Lunch is generally a very large salad using romaine lettuce with lots of chopped, raw vegetables on top. I also add a small handful of raw nuts or seeds, some avocado and sometimes some microwaved frozen asparagus. Fat in the diet is certainly important, but I choose to use whole-food fats like avocados, nuts and seeds. I make sure that I always have an avocado or cashew-based dressing for my daily salads. My favorite after-lunch treat is to blend one-half of a frozen banana with homemade almond milk, another half cup of frozen fruit like strawberries or peaches, one serving of leafy greens like raw kale and a dash of vanilla extract.
